Carrera's red guide

On a recent trip to slot-car-crazy Spain, I saw a Carrera slot car with a red replacement guide in the back panel of the case. When I asked the shop owner what that guide was for, he said it's for replacing the long...long... standard guide to use with SCX/Scalextric track!

The car was at a store called Poly, the car with a special edition Tuner 350Z, the guide was red and clearly smaller than the standard guide.

**edit** I would like to be clear that I don't know if this is a new thing Carrera is doing or something that it's always done in the Spanish market due to the prevalence of Spanish brands of track being dominant in Spain.

A second black or red guide is always typical in Carrera cars in Spain.

Not in USA?

Hello Samjack and DV, no a second guide is usually not given. Some companies like Scalextric (Super Slot in Spain) give 2 extra guides but they're the same guide as the one that comes on the car. It's not meant to be a replacement of a different size like the one I mentioned here.

I have no idea if this guide was anything that is planned to be released in the US or maybe it's only done in Spain because the dominant brand of track in Spain is not Carrera but a Spanish brand like Ninco or Scalextric. I talked with a gentleman (I believe his name was Bernard and he was the son of the owner of Cric Crac...which is the largest slot store in Spain and maybe for that matter the world) and he said that it's most common to see Ninco track used for competition because of the width of the track and how easy it is to put together.

hell of a blog... That is good or bad?

Think in my beginner English.

I live in León just on the west. Too far from Barcelona.
