Land speed record diesel?

"Goober Express, Vegetable Velocette, Margarine Meteor, Fryer's Flyer...just some of the names that people have called the Greasel.

The World's Fastest Grease-Powered vehicle? It will run on peanut oil. The truck is a 1987 Chevy Silverado that kicks out 3,000+ horsepower and will be run on peanut oil.

On November 12th Yahoo! Autos will be racing in El Mirage, Ca on the edge of the Mojave desert to set the land speed record for the world's fastest 'greasel.' "

Well I had planned to post something else but this is pretty cool, so I had to post it... forgive this digression from slot cars for today.

No word on whether this truck actually accomplished the goal....

It didnt run over 165mph, it ran at 98mph, it was a record still since there has not been a record set on its category.
